About Kate

Kate is a community supported herbalist and beekeeper residing in the beautiful desert of New Mexico. She lives with her talented and supportive partner and their brilliant daughter at Indigo Gardens, a community homestead in Albuquerque's South Valley.

Kate has been studying herbal medicine for 10 years and has been practicing out of her home for the past 3 years. Kate enjoys the regular practice of playing with plants, be that making medicine, gardening or identifying plants in the wild. She is currently in school for botany and nutritional studies and is always taking classes and mentorships to increase her knowledge of herbal medicine and the practice of helping clients.

"It is my belief that we all have the ability to heal ourselves and that through the wisdom of the plants and our bodies, we can achieve wellness. I feel that it is important that we know the ways we can help ourselves when we experience dis-ease and I seek to empower those who I am privileged to help with the wisdom and knowledge I have gained." ~ Kate Viers

Kate is passionate about beekeeping, nature, gardening, sustainable living, fire dancing, circus arts and much more, but most of all she lives for her family and her amazing baby girl Indigo, for which the inspiration for Indigo Gardens and Indigo Herbalism came!
